I am a seasoned traveller and am looking for an “off the beaten track” kind of adventure. I have never been to South Africa but have heard so many great sorties from my friends and have been reading up on the destination online. I will be travelling on my own, and therefore wanted to reach out on this forum to see how solo travellers navigate the country. Would you recommend I travel on my own or in a group? Any areas I am meant to avoid? Would anyone be able to recommend areas that are not as touristy as Cape Town or Johannesburg? I am an avid wildlife photographer and therefore am looking to maybe head over to Balule Nature Reserve. Has anyone been there and recommend?

Hi!
I went to South Africa on a youth group tour and I absolutely loved it! we did the garden route and slept in local’s houses (b&b) where they also prepared home made food. The experience itself was one of a kind in only 6 days. If you’d like to take a look this is the one: Garden Route & Addo Group Adventure - 6 Days by Earthstompers Adventures with 123 Tour Reviews - TourRadar - there’s a visit to the Addo Elephant National Park but if you have more time you could definitely add the Balule Reserve!
