I’m so excited! We’re planning our wedding for May 2027, and then will be going to Europe for our honeymoon for 3 weeks, all my dreams are coming true and I’m researching everything so we can start making plans! We definitely want to go to Italy as my fiancé has heritage from there, so at least 1 week. But where else should we go? We would love to try some different food from different countries, and would like some beach time (will it be warm enough in June?), so maybe 2 differetn countries. Happy to get some short flights to the right spots. We want some romance, but also want to see some historic sites that we just can’t get in the US. Any ideas for us?
Let’s be serious, if you’re on honeymoon the romance is there wherever you go.
I don’t want to get too carried away without knowing your budget.
You could start your Italian week on the Amalfi Coast for beach, ‘romance’, and stunning views. It should be warm enough in June.
Without knowing whether you want to hire a car, or stick to public transportation; trains or planes?
Travelling north, spend a few days in Tuscany or Florence for art, history, and wine.
If you want a quieter, less touristy experience, consider Puglia or Umbria for countryside charm and authentic cuisine.
Optionally, add a day or two at Lake Como for lakeside villas with views of the Alps.
I actually like some of the smaller northern Italian lakes.
From there (flights out of Milan) there are so many options; Greece (plenty of history), Spain (plenty of beaches), Portugal (plenty of both).
Hello,
First off congratulations

Two Italy is large so narrow down North vs South if you are only doing a week. I can definitely assist with that after you narrow that down. I loved Italy and what it had to offer and still have more to see and do Sicily by itself.
As for more locations, the train system out there is incredible even ones in Switzerland which if you do North Italy is very possible. I did this myself from Milan once on a tour and another time for a grand adventure out of Italy.
What are y’all’s travel styles and what you want to do on your honeymoon?
