I think one of the most basic but overlooked tips is to properly sort out your money and choose a travel card with low fees. There is another topic about that here > I’m traveling from Australia to Europe — which travel card would you recommend

I learn’t that the hard way a few years ago travelling with my Australia credit card, just to be surprised how much my bank charged in international transaction fees when I got back  :money_bag:

Learn to travel with less stuff… Many airlines now charge for check-in luggage. If you can get by with just carry-on, then you can often get a cheaper fare-type / avoid paying for luggage.

Good to know! My bank doesn’t have international transaction fees as my card automatically switches currencies from the first purchase in a new country, so I won’t need to worry about that thankfully!

Agree with Garry, Carry on only is massive, especially if you’re trying to fly budget airlines they charge soo much just to add on a bag.
