I am planning to visit Toronto which I heard is an amazing city and a melting pot of different cultures. Does anybody have tips and recommendations on which districts/areas have the best restaurants and cool vibes? Are there like some street festivals or parades you really should see when you there?
Torontonian here! Toronto is a really great city to explore food and different cultures! These are some of my top places to visit for food and good vibes.
- Kensington Market has a wide variety of foods you can try (tacos, rasta pasta) and lots of vintage shopping!
- Lawrence Market - it’s a food market and really great fresh food
- Little Italy (College Street area)
- Greektown / The Danforth
There’s always something happening in Toronto, festivals, events, depending on the time of year.
I would definitely check out the West End. Queen West is somewhere I would spend a day. Also, head down Ossignton Avenue for some of the most trendy restaurants and bars in the city!
Just came back from Toronto a month ago - I looooved it! I stayed at King West Village which is the trendiest and coolest part of the city. It’s open all hours, and the streets are lined with restaurants and bars. It’s also super safe (solo female traveller here)
King West can definitely be a fun time but it does lean younger and has a more party-type vibe (a lot of clubs and bars). It totally depends what you want out of your visit. I’m a big foodie and love more casual bars that’s why I love Queen West, Ossignton, and little Italy!
@alex_miller_travel aren’t you an expert on Toronto? ![]()
