Hey y’all, we’re going to Lake Como in mid September and I’ve kinda set my heart on basing in Varenna instead of Bellagio because it sounds quieter. Problem is, every place with an actual lakefront view seems to either be booked already or €500+ a night. Has anyone stayed somewhere in Varenna that has a real balcony over the water (not the “partial lake view from the corner of the window” scam)? Also is the town really going to be sold out by July? I keep seeing people say book 6 months ahead and I’m starting to panic a little lol.

We stayed in Bellagio; a perfect location on Lake Como.
Had to wait a little too long for the food, so ate plenty of bread sticks in the down-time.
I actually visited Lake Como years ago on a day trip and I still remember how stunning the views were. It’s probably exactly why hotels around there get booked so quickly.
September is one of the best times to visit, so I’d definitely recommend booking as soon as you find something you like
