It’s our 10th anniversary and we want to splurge on a hotel in Florence. My dream is to have a room where I can see the Duomo from the window or a balcony.
Has anyone stayed somewhere that actually has this view (and not just “if you lean out the bathroom window to the left”)?
Looking for personal recommendations because the photos on Booking.com can be so misleading with angles…

Always ask for a ‘Duomo view’ room explicitly when booking and confirm with the hotel.
You might want to tell them it’s your 10th anniversary as well.
If it was my hotel, I’d have a bottle of bubbly waiting for you.
@joan I’ve stayed right by the Duomo before and waking up to that view is honestly unforgettable — especially for a special occasion.
If you’re splurging for your anniversary, make sure you book a room category that explicitly says “Duomo view” or “Cathedral view,” and email the hotel directly to confirm the exact room view. Photos online can definitely be misleading.
It’s absolutely worth it for the atmosphere alone and congratulations on your 10th anniversary
