My partner and I are traveling from Scandinavia to Florence in May for a 4 day trip. We are looking for a romantic hotel that is central but maybe not on the noisiest street. Since we only have 4 days, we want to make the most of it. Besides the Uffizi and David, what would you recommend we prioritize? We love good food, wine, and just walking around beautiful streets. Is it worth doing a day trip to Tuscany or should we just stay in the city the whole time?
Tell me your top locations you feel you cannot miss and I can add to it and give you a 3 day and one day Tuscany plan if you want.
@michael With 4 days in Florence, it might be nice to dedicate one day to the Tuscan countryside.
The villages around Tuscany are incredibly charming and offer a very different atmosphere compared to the city. One lovely option is Pienza, a small hill town known for its beautiful views over the Val d’Orcia and its relaxed atmosphere. Walking through its narrow streets feels like stepping into a postcard.
If you enjoy good food and wine, Tuscany is also the perfect place for that. Many small towns and countryside restaurants offer amazing local dishes and wines.
Spending a day exploring one of these villages can add a really special touch to a Florence trip.
