Hi! It’s quite a while off but I wanna see the solar eclipse from Spain in August 2027. I read you can see it on the south coast of Spain, and want to book something soon as i know things will get very busy around this time. I usually avoid the extreme heat, but might make an excpetion as I’ve always wanted to see a total eclipse. How bad will the heat be? I don’t want to be sitting inside in a/c all day, but not sure how long to go for and if I can make the most of it if its too hot. Any advice?
I was there in July 2024 when it was the hottest it had ever been. Yes, it was hot, but I live in the south in the U.S. To me, it wasn’t as bad as it is in somewhere like Florida or Louisiana. I’ve been in New Orleans in August and the humidity is what makes it so bad. In Spain, there’s not that same humidity because the Mediterranean isn’t the same as the Gulf. Yes, it’s intense in Andalusia. I don’t know where you’re planning to be, but bring a sun shirt that feels cool. I also had a shawl of same fabric. It made a huge difference. Solar eclipses are amazing! There was totality right outside where I was working in 2017 and it is well worth it. Even 95 percent totality is amazing.
