Quick question, coming from Canada, i keep seeing something about a QR code on message boards. We’ve registered on the Visit Japan Web site. Nothing about a QR code, is that only for tax free shopping?

That is my question. People say their Passports and QR code are checked multiple times entering Japan.

Alexia Papageorge - TrustworthyNarwhal7253 you should register with Japan immigration. It makes things easier and they use QR code for immigration customs and it’s also used I believe from what I’ve Been Told when you’re making tax-free purchases. And if you take a snapshot of your QR code after you register all your information it’s easy for them to just scan the snapshot.
This is the website you’re supposed to use and they have a app you can download.
