Going to Antigua in January and obviously want to hike Pacaya. Couple questions for anyone who’s done it recently:
- Which tour operator did you use? I see a bunch of options on the hostel boards and online and honestly no clue who to trust.
- Is the “roasting marshmallows on lava vents” thing still possible or has the activity changed since the recent eruption activity?
- How hard is it really? I am not in great shape (desk job, maybe 2 hikes a year) and the horse rental option scares me a bit too.
Any honest takes appreciated. I don’t want to be the person holding up the group but I also don’t want to skip it.
