I am in the process of planning a trip to Machu Pichu. I am not a big hiker but can work to prepare for this trip. Can you recommend me a trip to take that would suit a novice hiker? I don’t think I am cut out for a 7 day hiking trip. Is there anything for 3 days?

This one in particular looks like a great option if you are set on 3 days, and you want a group: Huchuy Qosqo Trek to Machu Picchu 3 Days 2 nights by TreXperience with 5 Tour Reviews (Code: HC0302TX) - TourRadar
I also did not do a lottt of hiking before going to Machu Picchu, and I was fine! As long as you take your time, and have a good general level of fitness, you will be able to do it ![]()
If you’re not a big hiker, I’d skip the long treks and do a shorter route or train combo - you’ll still get amazing views without killing yourself.

If you’re not a big hiker, I’d skip the classic 4-day Inca Trail and do either the train-to-Machu Picchu route or a very beginner-friendly trek like the Short Inca Trail (1–2 days).
A lot of people think you have to do a huge hike to experience Machu Picchu, but you really don’t. You can take the train from Cusco or Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and still have an amazing experience with minimal hiking.
I know some tour operators can also do just two days on the Inca Trail rather than the 4 day trek. I would recommend checking those options out!
