Heading to Portland Maine for a foodie weekend in October. We want to stay right in the Old Port so we can walk to all the breweries and restaurants. But I’m reading that it gets super loud at night with the bar crowds. Any recommendations for a hotel that is walkable but maybe a block or two off the main drag so we can sleep?

@daniel I haven’t been to Portland, Maine myself, but I’ve seen similar comments from travelers saying that the Old Port area can get quite lively at night, especially on weekends because of the bars and restaurants.
Many people seem to recommend staying a street or two away from the main nightlife area, so it’s still very walkable but a bit quieter for sleeping.
