I’m trying to book a hotel in Manhattan for November and literally every single place I look at adds a $30-$45 daily “destination fee” or “resort fee” at checkout that covers stuff I don’t want (like local calls and a bottle of water). Does anyone know of any decent hotels near midtown that just charge a flat nightly rate without the hidden BS? This has been a very frustrating experience so far

@carl Hi Carl, welcome to the community!
It’s been quite a long time since my last trip to New York, but unfortunately those destination or resort fees have become very common in many hotels, especially in Manhattan.
From what many travelers mention, it’s often hard to completely avoid them in midtown. Sometimes smaller boutique hotels or independent hotels are more transparent with pricing, but it can still vary.
Hopefully someone who has stayed in NYC more recently can recommend a few specific hotels without those extra fees.
