Plitvice looks magical in photos, but it’s a decent haul inland from the Dalmatian coast and involves a fair bit of walking once you’re there. We’re torn between making the trip for it or keeping to the coast and islands. Did Plitvice justify the detour for you?

If you can, arrive in the evening, stay the night at the hotel there and visit the National Park in the morning; before the tourist busses arrive.
