I have enjoyed both types of holiday’s

If I am only interested in visiting major landmarks, I will take a cruise ship. But if I am interested in exploring the culture and people of a destination, I find land trips to be more culturally inclusive and explorative.

I never done a cruise trip myself, as I like to explore around and do different activities (I enjoy an active vacation) and being around people of the same age range. I do want to though at some point, Polar cruise is in my bucket list.

I’ve not done a cruise yet, but plentry of land tours. I am looking to book an Egypt tour that has a 3 night cruise on the Nile right now!
The idea of doing a river cruise in Europe appeals to me a lot, I think it would be great to wake up in different cities each day and a unique way to see different countries!
What makes you decide between a cruise and land tour @MountainousMountainview? And what cruise do either of you recommend @traveler_502352?
A river cruise in Europe is a good way to start. Everything is taken care of, and there aren’t huge cultural differences. The castles are fun. If you’re a little bit more adventurous, I would recommend Vietnam.

I have done 11 cruises look at doing a ocean cruise in the med you can visit a new port daily that way

Thanks for your advice @MountainousMountainview! Where did you do your land tours? And when would you choose one over the other?
I’m looking at River Cruises for next year! Hoping for some ‘can’t-say-no’ Black Friday deals.
Not sure I’m up for a massive ocean liner just yet, but I love the water so feel it would be a great way to fit in a few destinations in a short period of time.
Any advice for a first time cruiser?
