I’m still at a very early stage, but I’m planning a trip to Canada in September/October, my main focus would be the west east coast and Alberta region. I’d love to hear suggestions, recommendations and any TR Adventure that I could take to enjoy this journey.
Very cool! You could look into a tour like this that goes through Alberta & BC: Rockies Summer Classic Tour by Discover Canada Tours with 182 Tour Reviews (Code: 71697) - TourRadar I may be biased but I’d definitely recommend checking out Vancouver as well when you’re there!
Nah, west coast is overrated! East coast for life!!! Newfoundland is amazing and Nova Scotia is a very close second. NS has better weather in Sept/oct though. I am very biased. Just joking about the west coast, it’s beautiful as well!
Thank you Geoff and Miller for the tips. I wrote east, but actually meant west, just fixed it. I’ll definitely have a look at NS, Geoff! We were indeed thinking of visiting BC, this tour looks perfect Miller. btw, which one would be the best base city, Calgary or Vancouver?
I would say that Vancouver would be the best base city as you have access to the both the mountains and then other things like Vancouver Island, and it’s also a better city then Calgary. I feel like this thread is going to start some fights between Canadians haha
Haha Vancouver > Calgary 100%
never been to Vancouver, but having been to Calgary, there is not much do to lol. so Vancouver for sureee.
Calgary might not be that exciting, but if you are in Alberta, I’d say the Icefield Parkway is an amazing drive from Jasper to Banff. So many epic lakes and hikes to do along it.
Hi, I have never been in Alberta before, and I really love camping. Could you recommend some places to do this activity? What other activities can we enjoy in the province?
Camping near Drumheller! Dinosaur Capital of the World!
I’ve only travelled within Alberta (not BC), but I completely agree with @Gee. The Icefields Parkway drive is truly one of a kind, and there are so many incredible stops to make along the way to Jasper. It’s a super easy drive, so I would take a look at some self-drive tours. Also, if you are really into nature/animals, Jasper is the place to be!
