Best Road Trips in America

I had. agreat time driving the Pacific Coast Highway a few years ago with a few friends. we are just beginning to plan another visit to the US and want to incorporate another long drive but no idea where to start as my friend organized the last trip. I woul dbe open to travelling more inland, maybe visiting some national parks? A good city at either the start or end of the trip is a must too. HAs nayone got any experience of these things/

I would probably look for natural areas that are impressive to drive through like the Rocky Mountains in and around Montana. Or for a very long drive, Route 66 is the most famous road for that in the USA. :us_outlying_islands:

One of the trips I was looking to do for a while is the South. If you are a foodie and a music lover, the places to be are Nashville, New Orleans, Tennessee and Louisiana are all great spots.

You can experience the southern hospitality, comfort food like great BBQs, lots of seafood and for dessert some beignets.

My uncle and aunt have done this trip and absolutely loved it. You can of course do a self drive trip but there are some great guided tours as well that can offer smome amazing local experiences such as touring Elvis’ mansion at Graceland.

I did a tour from Nashville to New Orleans - it wasn’t so much about the landscapes although a great road trip none the less! The music, food and culture were incredible - I absolutely loved it!

They don’t have the exact trip I took anymore but it was very similar to this one (by the same operator): Tastes and Sounds of the South by Trafalgar with 7 Tour Reviews - TourRadar
