For me it’s the Valley of The Kings.
This place doesn’t speak, it whispers, echoes, and sometimes stares right back at you.
It’s the most intimate place in Egypt because it’s not about monuments towering over you; it’s about descending into the quiet, painted minds of people who lived there 3,000 years ago.
The pyramids shout. The Nile sings. But the Valley of the Kings confides.
Having said that, I did enjoy having an ice-cold beer on the terrace of the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan; watching Feluccas on the Nile.
I want to visit Egypt because I am fascinated by its rich history, ancient monuments, and vibrant culture. The pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the temples of Luxor are some of the marvels I’ve always wanted to see in person. Additionally, exploring the bustling markets, trying traditional Egyptian cuisine, and experiencing the Nile River cruise are exciting prospects that make Egypt an irresistible destination for me.
I want to visit Egypt because I’m eager to experience its unique blend of ancient traditions and modern life. The idea of wandering through historic sites like the Valley of the Kings and exploring the lively streets of Cairo excites me. I’m also interested in learning about Egyptian culture, enjoying local music and food, and taking in the breathtaking desert landscapes. Egypt’s mysterious past and lively present make it a destination I truly want to explore.
I would love to go to Egypt to see the pyramids of Giza! Truly nothing more remarkable. Experiencing the Nile River cruise would be an incredible opportunity as well.
The epic history lesson
For me, it’s a mix of the history, culture, and landscapes. I’d obviously love to see the Pyramids, but if I had to pick one place I’m most excited about, it would probably be the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. I’ve also been learning the Levantine dialect at the moment, but I’d love the chance to use what I’ve learned while travelling and eventually expand my knowledge of other dialects too. I think being able to connect with locals, even in a small way, would make the experience so much more meaningful.
Just curious… For those who’ve already been to Egypt, what was the one place that completely exceeded your expectations? Or would you ever go back because you wish to see something you missed?
I would like to visit Egypt because of the connection to the ancient world and early civilisation.
One of our best experiences was a day trip to the valley of the whales. You need to look this up and arrange to go through the group we were working with in Cairo. Most people never go and see it. But you spend the day in the desert, riding the dunes, lunch at a Bedouin camp. But exploring the site, the valley of the whales is unlike anything you will have ever seen. We loved it.
Cairo. Alexandria. Luxor. I have been dreaming of visiting Egypt since ‘The Treasures of Tutankhamun’ toured the U.S. in the late 1970’s when I was a kid.
To me, it’s the valley of King too. Hatshepsut temple also, is a fascinating place. Actually, i love the cruise on the Nile and most of the temple on this trip, between Assouan and Louxor. All this land sounds magic.
I’ve wanted to visit Egypt since we studied it in school when I was around 10 years old.
I remember thinking ancient Egypt was like no other place on Earth and was fascinated with Tutankhamun, so Luxor would be the obvious pick for me.
I think an honorable mention needs to go to the Red Sea too though. Most people consider Egypt has a historical trip location, but I think it’s also quite an underrated place for snorkeling or diving!

My fascination with Egypt began at school. I became completely captivated by its history, and that passion eventually led me to study History and Archaeology at university.
To me, Egypt is more than just a destination. It’s a place that still inspires awe, curiosity, and endless questions, even after all these years.
One of my biggest dreams is to experience Egypt with the man I love, following the route of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile. I’d love to see the Valley of the Kings, stand before the Great Pyramid of Giza, and wander through the magnificent temples of Luxor.
As a travel content creator, I love capturing places through emotion rather than just beautiful visuals. And I know that if I visit Egypt, those emotions won’t need to be staged—they’ll be completely genuine. You simply can’t fake the look in someone’s eyes when they’re seeing a lifelong dream come true.
It would mean the world to me to be part of this adventure. I’ve been wishing for the chance to visit Egypt for a long time, and I truly hope this is the moment. 
I want to visit Egypt because ever since I was a child, I’ve always felt an incredible connection to this place, its magic, the pyramids, the Sphinx, and its entire culture are a dream come true for me. I’d like to share this with my mom, since she’d also be thrilled to go on this trip. I remember very clearly that when I was a kid, she helped me with a project in elementary school to give a presentation on Egyptian culture, we did an excellent job, and I cherish that memory in my heart.

I really enjoyed the Valley of the Kings. Luxor in general gave a completely different experience to Cairo and Giza and is well worth the trip.
I would travel to Egypt because it feels like stepping into a living storybook—a place where ancient wonders, vibrant culture and warm hospitality come together. I want to stand before the pyramids, sail the Nile and experience the magic of a civilisation that has fascinated the world for thousands of years. More than just a holiday, Egypt would be a chance to create unforgettable memories and return home with a deeper appreciation for history, culture and the incredible world we share.

I’ve never been so it is hard to say anything beyond the Pyramids. However, travel breaks down prejudice and myth. I’d like to get to know what it means to not only see Egypt as a tourist, but also to learn what it mean to live in Egypt from a locals perspective.
