Continuing the discussion from Why visit Egypt - which part of it pulls you in the most?:

After studying Egypt in school many years ago, being able to see and explore the pyramids and the Valley of the Kings in person would be amazing. While Egypt sometimes gets a bad safety rating, I can honestly say that I have had no issues. The people are friendly, and as long as you obey the local laws, it’s a great place to visit. We never felt unsafe. Use a tour guide where you can. Being up close to the mummy of Tutankhamen at the Valley of the Kings is amazing, and the new museum is well worth the visit. Aswan is also amazing, and I would not hesitate to have a several-night boat cruise on the Nile. Egypt is a must on the bucket list
