Going from Paris to Lucerne in July and torn. TGV Lyria Paris to Basel is about 3 hours, then another hour to Lucerne, so call it 5 to 6 door to door. A flight CDG to ZRH is 1h20 but add 2 hrs at CDG, the RER out there, Zurich immigration, train to Lucerne… probably 6 hours too honestly?
Price-wise the flight is cheaper right now by like 40 euro. But the train leaves from Gare de Lyon which is a 15 min metro from our hotel vs schlepping to CDG at 6am. What would y’all pick and why? I lean train but my partner keeps waving the flight price at me.
