One Week in Costa Rica: Where Would You Go?

If you only had a week in Costa Rica, would you head to the Pacific coast, the Caribbean side, or go deep into the rainforest? I’m torn and would like to hear what stood out to people who have visited the most. Thank you!

I had the same issue of not knowing where to go. I used TourRadar and contacted one of the operators directly and asked these questions. It was my first time in Costa Rica and didn’t want to do the usual tourist routes. I told them I wanted something a bit more adventurous and off-the-beaten path. I ended up going south, exploring the Corcovado National Park https://www.tourradar.com/srp/d-costa-rica#n_destinations=1004

It was amazing. To get there, I had to drive south, then jump on boat and drive an hour to my accommodation which was right on the water. It was magical. Almost no tourists and a lot of nature activities. Saw pumas, sloths, plenty of monkeys and even a tapir. Some other guests even saw Jaguars, which are super rare.

I still stopped at the famous Manuel Antonio National Park on my way back just because I had some extra time and while touristy, it was still nice and worthwhile.
