I only have one day in Dublin and want to make the most of it. Any recommendation?
I only had one night in Dublin myself, and what I personally did was walk around and took in the sights. Drank some Guinness because it’s a must-do in Ireland, and flew out the following day. I would say, if I could, I would have liked to visit the Guinness Factory and get a tour because Guinness is one of those brands that has a story. I would also recommend you watch the House of Guinness on Netflix as it tells the Guinness story, although not with all to historical detail, but it will give you some context for when you visit.
The Temple Bar is great - lots of lively pubs, bars, restaurants lining cobbled streets.
I’m a big music and literature fan (can get a bit niche-y haha!), so for me these were the must-dos:
- The Irish Rock ‘n’ Roll Museum (If you love Thin Lizzy, Sinéad O’Connor, Rory Gallagher, U2… it’s the place for you)
- MoLI – Museum of Literature Ireland –> exhibitions on Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, … really lovely museum)
- Trinity College Library –> the famous Long Room and the Book of Kells are quite a sight to behold! Make sure you book your ticket in advance online
If you like Whiskey visit Teeling distillery!
Also the rock n roll museum as mentioned above is a good experience! (Check if you can have Alan as a guide, that dude is awesome)
no way, Alan was my rock n roll museum guide, too! I saw that he had his last day working at the museum
what a cool guy!
What a shame, he was 100% the right guy in the right place.
