Planning a 10 day Christmas market trip next December with my mom (she’s 68 and a huge Christmas person). We can fit 3 cities comfortably and I’ve narrowed it down to Nuremberg, Vienna, and Strasbourg.
I know Nuremberg is supposed to be THE one (Christkindlesmarkt, very traditional). Vienna apparently has a bunch of different markets all over the city. Strasbourg calls itself the “capital of Christmas” so that’s obviously marketing but still.
If you had to pick the single most magical of those three, which would it be? And is it a mistake to try all three in one trip (logistics-wise) or totally fine by train? Leaning toward flying into Frankfurt, Nuremberg first, then Strasbourg, then Vienna out. Mom wants glühwein and pretty lights, I want to not lose my mind in crowds.
