I’m planning to spend New Year’s somewhere new as a young female solo traveller and looking for recommendations! Ideally somewhere with warm weather, a beach nearby, and a great atmosphere to ring in the New Year. Where would you suggest? Any hidden gems or classic destinations that are particularly good for solo female travellers at this time of year? Thanks!

Rio de Janeiro was by far my favourite for New Year’s Eve.
I’m not a solo female traveller, but I’ve met plenty; even in South America.
If Rio sounds too adventurous for you, you could consider Phuket, Boracay, or Aruba for warm-weather beaches at Year’s End; or Sydney, Australia.

I have Edinburgh for New Years on my bucket list. I heard they have something called Hogmanay. From what I understand it’s got viking vibes, lots of fun traditions and fire festivals!
