I have 2 weeks off in November and genuinely no idea where to go. Open to anywhere in the world. What I want: warm weather, not peak tourist season, interesting culture, and good street food. What I don’t want: humidity that makes me feel like I’m breathing through a wet towel.
I was thinking maybe Thailand or Portugal but I’m open to being convinced of something totally different. Budget is flexible. Traveling solo, 34M. Where did you go in November that made you think “this is the perfect time to be here”?
Portugal is actually a great option for November in my opinion — especially Lisbon and the Algarve. You still get mild weather, great food, beautiful light for walking around, and it’s much calmer after the summer crowds.
I’d also look into southern Spain or Morocco for that time of year. Warm enough to enjoy being outside, amazing street food and culture, but without the intense humidity of Southeast Asia
What do you actually want to do (or like to do) while you travel? Do you want big cities, history, and culture? Or do you want outdoor activities, beaches, nature, hiking, swimming, and stuff like that?
A few other options that you might want to consider:
Colombia
Costa Rica & Panama
A safari in Kenya or Tanzania
Also, instead of Thailand, perhaps another Southeast Asian country? Vietnam is amazing, and so is Cambodia.
