Chefchaouen looks lovely in every photo, but it’s tucked right up north, well off the usual Marrakech-Fes-desert loop. We can’t tell if it’s a magical half-day or hours of driving for one pretty street. If your tour took you there, did the blue town earn its place, or would you skip it next time?
We spent only one day and night in Chefchaouen before – next time we go back we are going ONLY to Chefchaouen (and Essouaria, and Erfoud).

I’d say it’s definitely worth it, especially if you’re traveling from somewhere far away where getting to North Africa already takes a full day (or flights aren’t exactly cheap 
). I’ve had a friend book a tour that included Chefchaouen, and they all said it’s one of those places where you can’t really see anywhere else in the world exactly like it! @traveler_1217712 I’d love to know since you have already been, but are already considering returning…what inspired you the most in Chefchaouen to go back?
beautiful countryside around that merited some walking/hiking; very friendly people, slower pace than frenetic Fez/Marrakech; the kitties, the photo ops
