How long are the drives on a Morocco tour - are the days between cities a slog?

We’re looking at tours that go Marrakech, Fes and the desert, and the map makes it look like a lot of ground to cover. We’d rather not spend every day in transit. For anyone who’s done a guided Morocco trip, how were the drives - broken up nicely, or long and tiring?

The drives can be long, but that’s part of the experience. If you have a great driver, that makes it so much easier

You are going to stop on your way for various sceneries, coffee, shopping, pee-pee brakes :-)! It’s nothing unsurmountable! You may want to start in Fes, enjoy everything there, then travel to Merzouga (Desert) and then Marrakesh (the most expensive one is Marrakesh). Yes, a day trip between each, but try to stay at least 2, if not 3 nights, in each place. My trip comprised more cities, still stayed 2 nights in Marrakesh. Trip from Merzouga to Marrakesh is a truly fun one, going through Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou. You’ll love it!
