Guided tours for couples over 60: how to choose the right one?

My wife and I are both 63 and we’ve never done a guided tour. We usually do cruise ships but wanted to try something different for Egypt. The number of options is overwhelming.

What should we be looking at besides price? Is the “comfort level” rating actually meaningful or is everything just called “comfort”? Should we prioritize small group size over luxury hotels or vice versa? And are there specific tour companies that cater more to our age group? We don’t want to be on a bus with a bunch of 25 year old backpackers (nothing against them, just different energy).

There are some tour operators that focus on your age group, and some that simply offer additional things that could be helpful. Finding an operator with some things like luggage portage (they help you with your bags at hotels, on and off the coach bus etc.), all meals included and a full time guide. Those will probably give you the level of service you want.

Comfort is a very subjective term, so never hesitate to reach out to an operator for answers to your questions. I did and was pleasantly surprised how much help I got!
