Best lakes near Vienna accessible by train

I’m coming to Vienna for the month, will be around from the 30th Of May. Any recommendations on lakes I must see and experience in Austria - that are also easy to get to via train? (I have only been to Wolfgangsee) Any recommendations on fun events happening this June - love electronic music. Of course let me know if there’s anything happening that you don’t mind this Aussie tagging along for, always up for experiencing what the city / surrounds have to offer

not the lake view, but the river view: Ambassador of Austria is back! Did you ask for more amazing views reachable in less than one hour from Vienna? If so, here’s a well known Wachau valley and its Dürnstein town with its very own ruins of a castle. One of the easiest way to get the perfect view to Donau!

Welcome, hopefully you’ll get some decent weather! I would recommend visiting Attersee; you can get to Kammer by train, or Attersee am Attersee also. If you want to swim, there’s a “Freibadeplatz” there - a public bathing area. On days with a good weather forecast, show up early! The bathing area is a grass lawn:

Lake… hmm.. what about underground lake? It’s called Seegrotte Hinterbruhl and it in a couple of minutes from Vienna! (Because it is almost within the city borders!)

Donauinselfest (June 21 – 23): one of Europe’s largest open-air music festivals you are very welcome

This just opened - I think it’s a looooot of fun and a great activity on a rainy day (not that it would ever rain in vienna at all) IKONO is an immersive journey through eclectic worlds that combine art, play and the unexpected.

if you didn’t visit any Heuriger yet, it could be a good experience too

Thanks everyone for all the recommendations and love the pics! So hard deciding, so many options! I have been to the Wachau valley and I was lucky enough to go to a few Heuriger’s last summer, but hopefully can make my way to another this month.
