Arches National Park: how many days do you actually need?

Family of 4 heading to Utah next June (kids are 10 and 13). Flying into SLC and renting a car. Arches is the main goal but Canyonlands is right there too.

I keep seeing people say you can “do” Arches in a day but that sounds rushed? We want to do Delicate Arch at sunset (obviously) plus a couple other hikes. Is 2 full days in the park enough, or should we plan for 3? And is it worth splitting time with Canyonlands or just focusing on Arches? The kids are decent hikers but not exactly ultramarathon material.

It’s different for everybody, but I would recommend a full two days to see both Arches and Canyonlands, as then it wouldn’t feel rushed. I think it’s worth it to spend some time in Canyonlands, but certainly not as much time as you would need at Arches. Seeing the double-arch at Arches is worth it, and it’s only a short walk from a parking lot. Have fun!
