Hiii!!! Has anyone taken an organized adventure in Scotland that they LOVED? Looking for some recommendations, thanks!
Timberbush and Rabbie’s Tours are generally good. especially the Highlands and Isle of Skye ones. Do cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow on your own and then the find tour for the Highlands or Skye
I’ve been on these two: 4-Day Isle of Skye & West Highlands Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh by Rabbie's Tours with 100 Tour Reviews - TourRadar 3-Day The North Coast 500 Small-Group Tour from Inverness by Rabbie's Tours with 17 Tour Reviews - TourRadar The Isle of Skye was worth it, the other one - not so much. ![]()
As a Scotty myself, I recommend spending time in the cities on your own and then do a trip that has activities like hikes and stops in Inverness and whiskey distillery stops so that it cuts from the long drives in the Highlands
I spent a couple of days in Edinburgh by myself (I can highly recommend it, for Harry Potter fans it is an absolute must) and then joined an adventure with Rabbie’s and they were amazing! We had a very Scottish tour guide and the Highlands are just stunning. This is the adventure I booked: 5-Day Highland Explorer: Skye & Far North Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh by Rabbie's Tours with 42 Tour Reviews - TourRadar. I went with my mom and we both loved it!
I would echo what Dom and everyone else has said, do the cities on your own and take a tour round the highlands and across to Skye, if that’s where you want to go. I’m from an hour north of Inverness, so can give some local tips if you have free time up there, and lived in Edinburgh for about a decade too.
Just to give you an example on how amazing our tour guide was, when we were driving with the tour bus, he even alerted us when he saw a cute dog on the street. I think that’s another level of service
Thank you all VERY much appreciated!
