I found a really cool cooking class in Rome on Viator, but in the reviews someone mentioned the actual name of the cooking school. If I go to the school’s website, it’s about 15/20 euros cheaper per person.
Is there any benefit/protection to booking through Viator or should I just book direct to save the cash?

I’d talk to the people through their website. Build up a rapport and book direct if you feel comfortable.
It’s like hotel reservations, I usually book direct with the hotel, where possible.
If the school looks legit and has good reviews, I’d go direct — Viator’s mostly for peace of mind, not really worth it for a small class IMO.
