Planning a Balkan overland trip next September (Ljubljana to Sofia ish) and I keep seeing Rome2Rio recommended. When I use the site it shows me options and prices but I can never tell if I’m actually booking through them or just being sent to another site. Does anyone actually complete bookings on Rome2Rio or is it just a comparison tool? Need something that’ll handle the weird buses across borders without me having to translate 5 different operator sites.
Quite simply, Rome2Rio is not a booking platform, it’s a planning tool and will send you to comparison websites for a small affiliate commission.
Rome2Rio’s core function is route discovery: it shows you how to get from A to B using trains, buses, ferries, flights, and driving, with estimated prices and timings; aggregating its data from a number of operators worldwide.
A clever tool for sure.
