I’m incredibly fascinated by the Silk Road architecture in Uzbekistan (Samarkand, Bukhara). I usually travel solo, but the logistics seem a bit daunting with the language barrier (especially since I just speak English). I saw a few highly rated 8-day guided itineraries on TourRadar that take care of the high-speed trains.
Is it better to just book a tour for this specific country? Or should I just go without a specific plan in mind?

I went without a specific plan in mind, and loved it.

@nicholas I would probably choose a tour for Uzbekistan too, especially if it is your first time there. The language barrier and train logistics seem manageable, but I think it would be much more relaxing to have everything organized so you can just enjoy Samarkand, Bukhara and the architecture without worrying about tickets and transfers.
TourRadar has some really good Uzbekistan itineraries with high-speed trains already included, and prices seem quite reasonable for what is covered. I found this 8-day itinerary and it looks like great value for the amount of places included.
Most of the tours already include the main Silk Road cities like Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, plus hotels and transport, which makes the whole trip feel much easier.
