Curious what city in Europe caught you off guard. Like you went with low expectations or no expectations and left thinking it was one of the best places you’d visited.
For me it was Bologna. I only went because it was a cheap stop between Florence and Venice and ended up falling in love with the food arcades and the whole vibe. Stayed an extra day.
What’s yours? Especially interested in places that don’t make the usual top 10 lists.
Siena, Italy - such amazing vibes and such cool history! Had no idea what I was getting into when my travel buddy suggested it- 100% worth the surprise.
Bari, Italy - I was just here to catch the ferry to Greece, but it’s SO beautiful! Doesn’t get enough hype in my opinion.
Winchester, England - I was just here visiting friends of friends, but did you know inside a large hall in that town hangs the ACTUAL King Arthur’s round table? Because I didn’t until I was staring at it!
