Gorilla Trekking? When and where?

I have been wanting to see the Gorillas in their natural habitat for a while now, but I am having a hard time choosing between Rwanda, Uganda, or the Congo (although with the Congo in its current situation, probably not the best). Any suggestions on where and when it’s best to go would be helpful.

Gorilla Trekking Advice

I have clients in their late 70s and want to see the Gorillas. Has anyone been to see the Gorillas in Uganda and recommend this? Or would you advise Rwanda instead? They are active and have travelled a lot before, so I am not worried about their fitness level. I heard the permits need to be booked pretty far in advance, is 1 year enough pre-planning? Thank you for the advice!
