Go-to travel app?

I met a girl who did backpacking through Asia for a few months and she showed me an app that marks in the map the locations you visited automatically! You can add pictures and notes to remember your trips and share it with your friends so they get updates in real time. I loved it but now I can’t remember the name!! Anyone knows?

Also curious about any other cool travel apps!

I am not sure which particular app your fellow traveller recommended, but I have heard of Polarsteps, Visited and Skratch being particularly good to track your travels ; though most of these are not automated. I haven’t used these myself, but heard good things about them.
