Bhutan daily fee changes

Has anyone been to Bhutan since they lowered the Sustainable Development Fee back down to $100/day? I’ve always wanted to go but the mandatory guide thing feels restrictive. Is it worth the cost just to be in a place with so few tourists, or does it feel too staged/managed?
Hope this is not a super niche question

I haven’t been yet, but some of my close friends recently went and absolutely loved it

From what they told me, it feels like a very unique and special place, not overly crowded and quite different from typical destinations.

The guide requirement might seem restrictive at first, but I think it actually helps you experience the country in a deeper and more meaningful way.

I went last October..a 62 yearold solo traveller.I travel alot, but never been to such a unique beautiful prestine place..its worth every cent I paid trust me

How long were you there for?

I was there last summer and had an amazing time. The tour I did was affordable and my guides managed to organized such special experiences for me with locals. I would highly recommend them. Her name is Gyembo, her whatsapp contact is +975 17 684 766 and their instagram is @journey_to_best_bhutan. They are not associated with the government and can organize better deals for us

Hope that it helps!
