We’re currently leaning towards Tossa de Mar because it seems walkable and really picturesque, but I’m curious if anyone preferred somewhere like Cadaqués, Begur or Calella de Palafrugell instead… If you only had 2–3 days on the Costa Brava, where would you base yourself? Or if you have already been, what was your experience like?
I’ve been to Calella (the one near Barcelona, on the Costa del Maresme), Blanes, Lloret and Tossa, a long time ago, so I dare say much has changed along that stretch of coast.
Those were my teenage, hitch-hiking days, so we were sleeping on beaches.
I don’t think that’s allowed any more.
I can’t remember if I passed through Calella de Palafrugell or not.
Cadaqués is a completely different vibe, but harder to get to.
Are you flying in to Barcelona or Perpignan, arriving by train, or driving?
Personally, I would spend the short time driving along the coast and overnighting somewhere different every night. But that’s my travel style.
