Awesome, @FatosPur !
In case you need some inspiration, I’ve been to Kyoto, Nara and Osaka. Some tips:
Kyoto
-
Higashiyama – wooden houses, the iconic Yasaka Pagoda, and the Kiyomizudera Temple, which offers stunning city views
-
Fushimi Inari Taisha – thousands of torii gates
-
Arashiyama – stroll through a bamboo forest, relax in the gardens of Tenryuji Temple, and see monkeys at Iwatayama Monkey Park
-
Nintendo museum (haven’t been, but hear it’s good!
-
Macho Bar – I will not spoil it, but look it up, book it for an evening, and you’ll have a great time
Nara
-
Nara Park with the bowing deer
-
Todaiji Temple – one of the world’s largest wooden structures
-
Yomogi Mochi – a mochi shop where you can see employees pound on rice cakes (quite a sight!)
Osaka
-
Dotonbori area is magical at night with its neon signs
-
Amerika-mura – lots of thrift shops and bars, just cool vibes
-
Osaka Castle and park
-
Nakazaki – quiet, quaint area
-
Shinseki (“New World”) – a colorful retro area dating back to the 1920s
-
Osaka is called the “kitchen of Japan”, so food is a must. Like takoyaki (fried octopus balls), okonomiyaki (savory pancakes), kushikatsu (deep fried skewers)
I also recommend the youtube channel Abroad in Japan. Been a fan since day one, great travel content about Japan!
Happy new year!
