Best snorkelling spots - anywhere!

I love snorkelling but have mainly done this in Australia (a little in Indonesia and New Zealand too), but I want to start planning my travels around snorkelling - I’m open to anywhere in the world! I would love to hear from any avid snorkellers what their top snorkelling spots (not scuba diving) are and why, and use this for my travel inspo!

I haven’t done many snorkelling trips, but Bali, around Gili T and Gili Air is my most favourite spot! I get to swim with many sea turtles around this area! Another spot I like is Koh Tao in Thailand, I saw a baby shark a few times there!

Okinawa (Japan) is incredible. We did a SUP and snorkelling tour in Nagahama beach (on the main island) and it was so much fun. Definitely very underrated.

We can’t talk about snorkelling without mentioning Croatia and Greece here as they are amazing places with very clear water.

I just came back a few weeks ago from a sailing trip in Croatia to the Koronati National Park. Really amazing spot for sailing and off course snorkelling on the absolutely clear waters of the national park

I agree with Gili T, my fave  not only turtles but also got to do manta ray snorkeling in Indonesia which was mind blowing. To add more: Mexico - incredible! Specially in Cozumel! Philippines: Palawan, must do! And lastly, Hurghada in Egypt!

Water is so clear and you get to see so many different sea animals - snorkeling is a must do in all my trips! I recommend doing Island hopping whenever you can!

I can second all of the people who mentioned Egypt and the Red Sea in general. There are some incredible reefs in the Sinai or in Eilat/Aqaba in either Israel or Jordan.

I know you mentioned you have snorkelled in Australia - but a spot I recommend there is Exmouth, on the west coast. It is absolutely stunning and you can drift snorkel with big Green and Loggerhead trutles, I saw so many there!

The Galapagos! You don’t even need to go to a specific spot, you can just be swimming at a beach and a sea lion will come up next to you and start trying to play with you. Also penguins, turtles, rays the list goes on and if you’re adventurous you can see sharks as well :scream:
