Albanian culture and food before visiting

I’m heading to Albania soon and I’m curious about a few things. What’s the local culture like — are there any customs I should know to avoid being rude? I’ve also heard the food is amazing, but I have no idea where to start — what dishes should I definitely try?

I spent 1 month in Albania (June), you’re going to LOVE it! There are no customs that I heard of avoiding…Although I did hear that if you nod your head up and down, it actually means “no” instead of yes (but I think the locals all understand it as yes as well, haha).
Lots of good food as well, byrek is awesome and quite cheap at some of the local spots. Definitely try the ‘speca me gjizë’ as well. If you like meat, the baked lamb is also a popular local dish (tavë kosi)
