Why is Morocco on your bucket list?

Morocco is on my bucket list because of its rich culture, amazing food and the affordability of exploring this region. I have never travelled to North Africa before and have always wanted to visit the Sahara desert.

Honestly, the whole world is on my Bucket List, but as a one-time archaeologist, I adore the history, the blending and variety of cultures throughout the land, and the diverse landscapes of Morocco. I would love to take my teen daughter to explore Morocco, as well.

Marruecos está en mi lista de deseos porque uno de mis objetivos es conocer el desierto del Sahara y pasear en camello. Debe ser una experiencia increíble, y no podemos irnos del mundo sin disfrutar estas maravillas de la geografía y de Dios.

Morrocco is on my to-do travel list because Morocco is like having multiple destinations wrapped into one incredible journey: the historic medinas, the culture and heritage of the country; the UNESCO heritage sites and ancient history, the cuisine, the stunning, intricate architecture, the Sahara Desert. The is so much to experience in one country.

I’ve always had Morocco on my bucket list mainly because of its natural beauty and the kind of atmosphere you don’t really find anywhere else—deserts, mountains, and those vibrant streets all in one place.

For me, it’s not just about visiting, but about capturing it properly. I’ve always wanted to go there and film a personal travel-style video of the whole experience, almost like a mini documentary of myself exploring the country.

I usually edit my videos on a Mac video editor, so I’ve always imagined coming back from Morocco with raw footage and turning it into something cinematic—something that really shows the feeling of being there, not just the places.

It’s amazing to see how many people have Morocco on their list here — it really says a lot about how special the country is.

At this rate, it might just be one of the top destinations for 2026

It says a lot about the chance of a ‘free tour’ in the TourRadar Contest promotion.

If you had to ask everyone where would be top of their list, I’m not sure it would be Morocco.

I also wonder how many are aware that they will have to pay to travel to Morocco, as flights aren’t included.

But it’s still great to read all the reasons, and I do hope some people return to the community to keep the place buzzing.

If a few people are inspired to book a similar Morocco Tour, if they don’t win, then it can be considered a promotional success.

@TravelNotes You make a very valid point — especially lately, flight prices have increased quite a lot.

Hopefully it still brings value to the community and the campaigns overall :slightly_smiling_face:

I would love to feel a part of ancient tradition and a world so unlike my own. Immerse myself in their culture, smell the smells, feel the energy and be a part of the an inncredible part of the world. It would be a dream come true.

I’ve been to Morocco 3 times, once in a group of 3, with driver & guide after winning a competition, once leading a school group of 30 students and once with my wife. Loved every minute of each time. A beautiful country with great scenery and history.

One day, I will step into the labyrinth of Marrakech’s souks, letting the scent of saffron and freshly baked bread, and the colours of the handwoven rugs and leather goods guide me. I will climb the High Atlas Mountains, enjoy a mint tea with Berber villagers and watch the sun set over the peaks.

I will ride a camel and feel the rocking of their languid steps in the shifting dunes. I will wander the blue streets of Chefchaouen, letting the colour seep into my soul. And stand on the ramparts of Essaouira and feel the breeze that carries with it the spiced aromas mixed with the salt of the sea. - A completely unique experience that absolutely must be on everyone’s bucket list.

Every place in the world is on my bucket list. I want to discover every corner, every culture, and everything that’s still unknown to me. But I know I won’t live the 390 years it would probably take to see it all. So when an opportunity like this comes along, thanks to Tourradar, when a trip is offered where I can focus on nothing but exploring, learning, and getting lost in a place like Morocco, it becomes more than just a destination. It becomes a step closer to that impossible dream of seeing the whole world. :globe_showing_europe_africa:

Morocco is on my bucket list because it offers such a rich mix of culture, history, and landscapes. I’d love to explore the vibrant markets in Marrakech and experience the vast Sahara Desert. The architecture, food, and traditions seem very unique, blending influences, where every city has a different atmosphere.

Morocco is on my list because it would be the first taste of an African country I would get, and a real discovery

This is the experience I’ve been dreaming of. The pulse of Marrakech’s souks - spices, sound, colors capturing my senses like no cathedral can. History that’s alive and vibrant. Aromatic food you can almost taste before the first bite. Donning my newly aquired Tagelmust and Djellaba, I want to brave the dunes of the Sahara on the back of an camel, spend the night under the skies at a desert oasis. Bring back the photo’s to prove this granny has ticked off her top bucket list item!

It would be a new country and continent for me. It’s a beautiful melting pot of cultures on the beautiful Mediterranean. Definitely a bucket list destination.
