Tips for travelling Australia and long haul flights with 4yo

Im planning a family trip next year to Australia. it would be the first time traveling with my 4 year old. I dont know much about Australia and looking for some recomendations of must see places to visit, my daughther loves animals so where would be the best place to see kangaroos and Koals basically all the cool animals. also what is the best time to visit, we love warm weather and would love to spend some time at the beach. it would be our first time traveling on such a long flight with our 4 year old daughther. so any tips and tricks from the moms out their that have done long flights with their toddler would the much appreciated.

I haven’t done a long haul myself with kids, but my friends who live in Aus just recently did a trip with their two little ones. I would suggest going to Brisbane, a smaller city but you get all the vibes! They did the Australian Zoo which is north of Brisbane and has all the animals, but if you’re looking for something closer you can do Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
Then from Brisbane you can take a train to the Gold Coast and have your beach time and also have all the amusement parks there, that’s what my friends did and their little ones loved it.

For the flight specifically pack lots of snacks! Snacks are your friend. Also just let go of all your usual rules and just got with the flow for the flight. If they watch more TV than usual or are on tech it is fine. Also packing things like lego kits (or things like that), reusable sticker books, colouring etc will all be helpful. Go in with low expectations so that you can just go with the flow
