Kilimanjaro trek difficulty (compared to the Inca Trail)

I’ve hiked the Inca Trail before, and found it failry managable. Tough for sure, but definitely doable. Now I’m thinking about hiking up Mt Kilimanjaro, I know this is a much longer trek and at a higher altitude, but I’m interested to hear how each compares. I’m not a fit avid hiker, but can train before hand and am looking at the 7-8 day Lemosho route. Has anyone hiked Kilimanjaro and can tell me how they found it? And has anyone done both and can say how they compare?

Hi @wendy I dont Kili 2 years ago and did the Umbwe Route in 5 days up and down. Supposed to be the tougher one but I thought it was fine. Especially as you do take your time. As long as you dont rush you are fine. The Lemosho is the most popular one and you have a few more days and more stops to acclimatize. I only done 1 hike before Kili over 3000m and I was fine. So with a bit of training you should be able to do it. Definitely saw some people up there that were not prepared and still managed.
