Innsbruck for 2 nights, enough or am I being too quick?

Slotting Innsbruck into a bigger Austria trip and I only have 2 nights. My “want” list is pretty simple: one proper alpine view (thinking Nordkette cable car up to Seegrube), wander the old town, eat a schnitzel, have a beer somewhere with a mountain behind it. Maybe the Swarovski Kristallwelten if we’re feeling it.

Is 2 nights fine for that or will I be kicking myself for not doing 3? Going in early October so shoulder season, hoping the weather holds.

Depending on what time you arrive and what time you’re leaving, two nights in Innsbruck is more than enough.

Don’t hang around in the morning and you can get a lot done in a full day.

The Old Town is compact and you shouldn’t miss the ‘Golden Roof’; there will probably be a little gathering there.

Anyone spending more than two nights in Innsbruck are using it as a base for day trips out; maybe to the Bergisel Ski Jump, or Tyrol Panorama Museum.

You probably won’t want to go hiking in early October.

Innsbruck has one of the most stunning alpine settings. Highly recommend the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum (Tyrol State museum) and Kunstraum Innsbruck (contemporary art) if you’re interested in the arts.
