Thinking about renting a car for the Ring Road this summer. How many days did you need and what stops are unmissable?

Iceland’s Ring Road is stunning! You will need about 6-8 days to do the Ring Road in Iceland. I would say the unmissable stops are obviously the cities and towns along the ring road where you would probably stay the night. I would say the most famous stops are some of the amazing waterfalls like Skógafoss, Gullfoss Falls,Seljalandsfoss, and Goðafoss Waterfall. I would also say some of the non misses are the Iceland Plane wreck where Justin Bieber shot a music video, and the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.

Interested to know, is it better to rent a car and do a road trip or a guided tour?
