First time in Germany, about 10 days, and there are too many cities to choose from. Berlin and Munich feel like musts, but then it’s Cologne, Hamburg, Dresden, Nuremberg. If you could only do three or four on a first trip, which would they be, and would you trade Munich for more of the south?

You could also add the Black Forest, for some hiking.

I opted for Northern Germany, so Berlin, Dresden, Hamburg and then dipped down to Cologne and Frankfurt. But that might have been since we were avoiding Munich during Oktoberfest!
