I am just curios for those who have lived and travelled Australia where there favourite place has been? Especially any that feel is not the regular destinations ![]()
Hey! I’ve never been to Australia myself, but I have family there and I’ve ALWAYS wanted to visit, so I’ve looked into it quite a bit—especially as someone who’s definitely more of a traveller than a vacationer. Have you looked into Karijini National Park in Western Australia? That’s one that really stands out to me. The landscapes look insane, with these ancient red-rock gorges, emerald-coloured swimming holes and waterfalls WITHIN the gorges.
And of course, I feel like you can’t go to Australia without experiencing the reefs somehow! Most people immediately think of Cairns for getting up close to the Great Barrier Reef, but I’ve also heard amazing things about Ningaloo Reef near Exmouth. You’ll be able to do a snorkeling adventure there ![]()
@ComfortableDesertrose , what are you really looking for from your Australia trip? More hiking and landscapes, wildlife, beaches/reefs, or smaller towns and local culture? I feel like Australia has completely different answers depending on what kind of traveller you are. It’s SUCH A BIG COUNTRY!
