We've only ever travelled around Europe - would India be too big a leap for a first trip further afield?

Our trips so far have all been fairly easygoing - Europe, mostly - and India would be our first time somewhere this busy and intense. We’re worried it’s a jump too far to do comfortably, but we don’t want to talk ourselves out of it either. Does going with a guided group smooth the landing, or is India always a bit of a shock to the system at first?

Go for it.

I’m pretty well travelled to every continent and the cities of India are by a distance the most intense places I have experienced. They are an assault on all of your senses. Outside of the big cities is very different.
I’d certainly recommend small group tours as it’s a tough place to negotiate independently. The guides are generally fantastic and take all the stress and headaches out of travelling around this crazy country.
I’d say it’s a must visit, but as a first trip out of Europe it’s very much in the deep end!
Enjoy, whenever you choose to go!

I would suggest a few days in the city then go to Goa as it stunning

I think this is a perfect excuse to find an amazing tour operator to show you the way and make you feel supported! At times when I have felt a little daunted by stepping out of my comfort zone, having organized travel in my corner has really helped!
